How to Renew Coverage
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) handles renewals. You should receive a letter about 45 days before your renewal is due. Once you receive the letter, respond by the deadline stated in your letter to avoid losing coverage.
You can check your renewal date anytime at access.wi.gov or using the MyACCESS mobile app. The MyACCESS mobile app also provides reminders, updates and 24/7 access to your information. These tools help you stay prepared and avoid surprises.
FAQs and Helpful Tips to Renew
When will I receive my renewal notice?
Renewals are spread throughout the year, so you might not get your letter at the same time as others. Make sure your contact information is updated with the state so you don’t miss important updates.
What can I do to get ready?
Make sure your address, email, and phone number are up to date at access.wi.gov. This ensures you won’t miss your renewal notice.
Why might I no longer qualify?
If your income, age, or other eligibility details have changed, you may no longer qualify. You must complete the renewal form to find out.
Is there a cost to renew?
No. DHS and CCHP will request a payment to renew coverage. Be cautious of scam calls or texts.
What if I miss the deadline?
You will lose coverage. There is a 90-day grace period to complete your renewal. Coverage may not be backdated, which could cause a gap.
