Starting June 21, 2026, Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) will begin asking BadgerCare Plus members to opt in (give consent) to continue receiving text messages and emails.

What You Need to Know

DHS sends reminders and updates about your:

  • Health care coverage
  • FoodShare benefits
  • Important deadlines and notices

Even if you already receive texts or emails, you must take action to keep getting them

Important Note About Your Communications

This opt-in applies only to messages from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). You will still receive important communications from CCHP as usual for now.

What You Need to Do

  1. Watch for a text or email from DHS
  2. Follow the instructions in the message to give your consent (opt in)

Opting in only takes a moment and helps ensure you don’t miss important information

Important Deadline

  • You must opt in by July 13, 2026
  • If you do not take action, you will stop receiving DHS texts and emails

New communication guidelines require DHS to collect informed consent before sending most messages. This helps protect your preferences and privacy.
